International Students

ADMISSIONS

Each year, Judge Memorial welcomes a number of students from other countries. We feel this is a benefit for both the international and local students. The preparatory nature of our curriculum is beneficial for international students hoping to study at U.S. universities. Their presence and backgrounds add to the diversity and cultural enrichment at Judge.

Homestay

International students reside during the school year in a safe and supportive homestay program with host families who are registered, screened, trained, and visited. This provides a chance for students to be part of an American family during high school. It is a personable, authentic experience that helps develop a sense of community, aids in social maturity, provides cultural exchange, and enhances language progression. Our homestay option is also affordable compared to traditional boarding school.

Student Life

Judge Memorial is a traditional American high school with grades 9-12. Enrollment is over 500 students — 3-4% are international students. We offer a variety of club and team options in sports, music, art, and dance and we encourage all students to participate.

During their time at Judge, students will participate in a number of retreats, allowing them to experience Utah, the host of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Retreats include outdoor recreation, visits to U.S. National Park (Utah is home to five world-renowned parks), university tours, professional sports games, and more.

We challenge our students and help them grow in spirit, mind, and body along with a strong academic environment.

Judge Memorial welcomes and embraces students from all over the world, and from all religions.

Support Network

At Judge, our experienced team has worked with international students for years. We are invested in each student’s success. We provide support and guidance for students and their families from start to finish — and remain committed to our students even after graduation as they remain a part of the Judge Memorial community.

Our assistance with international students is not limited to just academics. We understand that living abroad at such a young age can be challenging. We also provide support with immigration, travel, immunizations, and any manner of personal needs.

Judge offers a respected program and continues to increase in demand from both new students abroad and those who transfer from other schools around the United States.

My biggest takeaway has been the sense of community and belonging that my friends, host family, and teachers have given to me. Every single person that I have met has done their best to make me feel comfortable and like I’m at home. I am also really thankful for all the love and support that I receive from everyone here at Judge including the International Students staff.
— JOSE MAAZ CORTEZ, international student from Guatemala
