Bobbi Morgan has been a counselor at Judge Memorial since 2006. She currently serves as Judge Memorial's Director of Counseling and Student Services. Additionally, she advises student ambassadors and coordinates workshops on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for staff, faculty, and students. Ms. Morgan has introduced the Judge Memorial community to the benefits of "mindfulness", especially for adolescents. She is certified in both Learning to Breath and Mindful Schools curriculum, and teaches a mindfulness class "Learning to Breathe".
Ms. Morgan was inspired by her high school track and cross country coach who pushed her to "dig deep within and be the best version" of herself. As a teacher for academically struggling students, her coach believed in all students alike; regardless of where they fit academically. It was through his example that pointed Ms. Morgan into a path of helping others. The relationships she develops with students, families, and colleagues is a favorite part of her job.
In her free time, Ms. Morgan enjoys cold process soap-making, hiking and camping in the deserts of Southern Utah, Oregon coast and beaches of Kauai. "I am inspired by the simple and ordinary beauty of life; of the magic found in a routine experience that is anything but routine." It is fitting that one of Ms. Morgan's favorite quotes is:
“What will you do with your one wild and precious life?” - Mary Oliver (The Summer Day)
When asked what advice she would give to the students, Ms. Morgan said, "Remember you are enough!"
