Theology, Peer Ministry, Service Hours
Ms. Catherine Coffey joined the Judge Memorial Catholic High School faculty this school year. Ms. Coffey teaches theology and peer ministry. Although this is her first year as a faculty member, she also helped started the Kairos Retreat Program last year.
Ms. Coffey says her favorite part of her job is the students, “They are so fun, insightful, and energetic, getting to spend everyday with them doesn’t often feel like work.” This can definitely seen in Ms. Coffey’s attitude towards her students. She is always smiling and welcoming to her students, and she strives to treat her students like adults, similar to a teacher who inspired her in high school. Ms. Coffey was very active in within the student government of her high school. The Moderator allowed the students to advocate for themselves and support the students, but he treated them like adults “which forced us to step up to the plate.”When Ms. Coffey isn’t at school she likes to spend time outside. Whether that is in one of the 10 national parks she’s been to in the last two years or the 12 countries she’s traveled to, Ms. Coffey loves the outdoors. She spends her time hiking, camping, skiing, and running. She even ran her first half marathon last spring!
