Frosh Dance Turnout, Prom, etc.
Hey everybody!
Hope you're having an amazingly fun break!
Now, the Freshmen Dance had a very good turn out this year: It was way crowded and apparently there is "a great class coming in (next year)," said one of the chaperones.
Guys, although it is a little late now to start asking your girl for Prom, she would still like you to, so so get asking and buying the $45-a-person tickets during all lunches on these 2 last weeks.
Finally, StuCo will be having its Banquet/Brunch on Sunday, May 6!
Not that big of an update but as always, if you have questions or comments contact any StuCo member in Room 320. All of us StuCo people would like to wish you a "warm" and long rest of your Spring Break!
P.S. OUR COFFEEHOUSE WILL BE ON THURSDAY, MAY 3! Tell all your friends, your friends'friends, and anybody who can sing, write poems, whatever their talents is, it'll be welcome at our coffeehouse!

Judge Interact Banquet
On April 21 at 7 pm (in the Dance Studio) our Judge Interact-Rotary Club will host its annual benefit for Yomchiir, a village in Sudan.
Last year, we raised over $13,000 towards a grain mill and this year we plan to surpass that goal and get moe than enough to get a water tank and filter for the same village.
At the benefit, there will be a banquet of traditional Sudanese food, and an auction with both Sudanese crafts and SLC events tix/gifts, etc...
Tickets for the "Maji Banquet" ("maji" means water in Sudanese) are $25 for adults and $15 for students K-12. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Darfur Peace Rally
A student at Rowland Hall St, Mark's recently created an organization called Darfur Awareness as a way to "inform everyone about the genocide occurring in Darfur, Sudan."
"Darfur Awareness' first event is a rally to spread information about the genocide and inspire people to make a difference (raise money, write letters to legislators, pass on info, etc). "
"The rally is on the afternoon of April 28 at the City and County building in SLC. It will include some of Utah's best bands, speakers, poetry, booths, petitions, photography, Sudanese culture, fundraising, and other components."
If you are interested in participating at the rally, just tell Ms. Peterson and she'll give you her e-mail... In a couple of weeks, they will have a giant pizza party for all of the kids from the SLC area who respond.
This project will have kind of a work hard/play hard atmosphere--It's a great way to meet people and to improve lives of millions of Sudanese civilians.
Stay tuned for more news on Sudan and Judge's upcoming banquet.
GET OUT THERE & SUPPORT ROWLAND HALL AND SUDAN!!!

More Miscellaneous Announcements
Hey Bulldogs! I've got a couple announcements of things that are coming up:
Although we haven't heard of no any other details yet, Rowland Hall invited us to participate in a Peace Rally for Darfur (keep in mind that we will tell you the date, the place, the time, etc as soon as we ourselves find out more)
Again, the Coffeehouse is on May 3rd! The weather will hopefully be really nice, so we'll get a chance to perform and hang out outside. Besides selling LitMags at the event, the group will participate by "acting out" some of its poems and stories.
There will be a morning breakfast with the German Exchange students on Monday March 19th. in Campus Ministry at 7:20. Everyone is invited to come and hang out with a our new German people!!!
That's it bulldogs, have a great day!!!

Miscellaneous announcements
Hey Bulldogs and Future Bulldogs!
The following are just random ideas and events that we at Stu-Co have planned and that are coming up...
Tell your parents to sign up for the Blood Drive on March 8. They can either go to Room 320, talk to Ms. Peterson, or sign-up from 2-4 during Thursday's Parent-Teacher Conferences w/any of the representatives (we will be conveniently located at the table next to the student schedules).
If you're eligible (be at least 17 years old and weigh more than 120 lbs), you can always sign up in Rm 320 from now until the date. Just have your parents complete your Permission Form and bring it on or before March 8.
Stu-Co will decorate a snow plow that will be on display at the City County Building soon... If you want to help us or know more about it, just ask any Stu-Co member for more details and keep listening to the announcements.
Unfortunately, the Morp that we were very excited about had to be cancelled b/c there weren't any available dates (and also in order to keep it apart from Prom!)
Incoming Frosh Dance will be on March 30 at the Judge Dance Studio. Tickets will be no more than $3. Get to know what Judge dances are all about; you'll meet both your future classmates and even present Frosh who can give you the scoop on all aspects of Judge. Just come to the dance and have a great time!
A week after Nancy Miller Day (a.k.a. Career Day this year) will be our 1st Coffee House of the year (May 3). If you or someone you know plays an instrument, writes poems, is in a band, sings, etc, get them to come to this Coffee House! Utah weather permitting, we'll even get to hang out at the beach so what are you waiting to tell your friends and get artists to come?!
Class days: For now, the Juniors and Seniors are the only ones who have a plan of what to do with their fellow classmates.
The Jrs are going ice skating at Steiners
The Srs are going sledding (possibly @ Sugarhouse Park?)
Keep in mind that dates haven't been set yet so feel free to ask
a Stu-Co rep from your class what is actually going on...
Finally, the deadline for Senior Slide Show is March 30!
SENIORS KEEP SUBMITTING AS MANY PICTURES AS YOU WANT TO:
seniorslideshow@judgememorial.com,
The "Bucket-O-Pictures" at the Main Office, &/0r
Rm 320 (Ms. Peterson or Emily Rizzo)
THAT'S IT BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!
HAVE A GR8 REST OF A SHORT WEEK!

The AIDS campaign & next year's elections
Lieren has been such a great help in working with the necklaces! We started selling them yesterday Monday during lunch and we had about handful left on Tuesday before school!
In total we raised $500 and together with a previous donation with which we got the necklaces, we got a total of $1000 to give to the Youth Aids Foundation (youthaids/aldo.com)!
Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH LIEREN and all of you who bought the necklaces! Your money will go far!
We have begun planning for next year's elections already and here are some of the things we want to start doing. If you have any suggestions please contact Mrs. Peterson in Rm. 320 or @ epeterson@judgememorial.com.
-Only those who want to run for President and Vice-President actually need to be nominated by a teacher. In other words, unless you're nominated/recommended by a teacher before you run (or you nominate yourself), you may not run for Pres. or VP.
Finally, we want to have a MORP on March 30 @ the Dance studio in which you get to match your date!
Thanks Buldogs, and that's it for today!
HAVE A GR8 DAY!
2 quick announcements: Our 2nd Blood Dr. this year will be on march 8 and there will be no meeting next Monday b/c of President's Day...

1 year without Anastasia
Hey, again everybody!
This is to inform all of you that as a way to remember our Russian Princess, Anastasia, we have planned a few special activities for this Friday:
- A DVD of her will be playing all day at the chapel
- Snickers Bars will be handed all to all her fellow Seniors in CP
- Also in the chapel, you will find ribbons available and a Book of Remembrance for you to sign
- And finally, one of her Best Friends, Senior Ashley Thomas, will be saying the morning prayer through the PA
We hope you all keep Anastasia's family in your thoughts and prayers as they themselves remember her dear daughter and sister.
Now, on a lighter topic-- It's that time of year again! The snow is starting to disappear, the weather is becoming normal again, and we, your loving StuCo starts planning your PROM (from 6-11 @ the Downtown Marriot). Although we don't have any final notes on it, We will keep you as updated as we can when we ourselves find out of more details...
Finally, our Winter Pep Rally that was to happen on Friday, has been postponed to next Friday, the 16th. Expect as always, fun/strange/new contests, a lot of screaming, and tons of cheering for the winter sports and their captains!
Thanks & That's it Bulldogs, have a great rest of the week!

AIDS Awareness & Blood Dr.
Hey Everybody and thanks for visiting the StuCo Blog for the latest updates!
First up, today marks the beginning of this year's Catholic School's Week and Judge will be once again adopting the school of St. Rita in New Orleans... Everyday there will be a different type of donation going on and we need your help! Here's the schedule so you know exactly what to bring to CP...
Monday is Pennies for Paper
Tuesday is Nickels for Basics
Wednesday is Dimes for Toilettries
Thursday is Quarters for Clothing
& Friday is Dollars for Books (w/ Jeans for just $1 !!)
Even though different amounts have been designated for e/day, you still should put ANY amount on any day...... We'd love it if you did!
Next item for business is our 1st AIDS Awareness Campaign, which is the week of Valentine's Day (Feb 12-16) and StuCo actually ordered some COOL necklaces that some of you have probably seen Avril Lavigne (and many other stars) wearing... Soon you'll see the posters & know what we're talking about! So wear one (or 2 or more) and help those who have AIDS.
Finally, our 2nd Blood Drive this year is on March 8 and we're again doing it through ARUP... Since more of you will be able to come (you have to be older than 17 and weigh more than 120-125 lbs), we expect you ALL!!! Lately we've been doing very well reaching our goal, and it's all thanks to you, so do your best to KEEP IT UP!!!
All of us StuCo members wish you an awesome week and great report card results..... And remember: Catholic School's Week (Bring $ & wear jeans on Fri!), AIDS Awareness campaign (buy the necklaces and support the ongoing research!), and Blood Drive (people all around teh U.S. need your blood --and it does NOT hurt!)...
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING & (that's it Bulldogs) HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
w/Love, your StuCo~*

Starry Night & Cars
Hey again everybody!
"Starry Night" will be the theme for this year's Winter Dance. It'll be on Jan 6 @ 7 @ Rice Eccles. We'll keep you posted on the details & ticket info!
For now-- hope you are all doing gr8 adapting to that awesome snow that makes our morning and afternoon drives that much more enjoyable! Just make sure to keep it safe on the roads and the sidewalks and make sure you hide any expensive things you leave in your car.....---Kind message brought to you (w/love ) from ur Stu-Co!
Speaking of cars, you might have heard about a certain someone who broke into a couple of cars and stole some iPods, cellphones and the like. Well that someone was caught after a "brief chase" thanks to a mom who was coming to Judge to donate blood on the day of the blood drive..... We don't yet know who she is (THANKS anyways!!!)--- BUT fortunately our upcoming issue of the BDPress will let you know ALL about it!
Our annual Door Decorating contest will be here sooner than you think! So start planning w/your CP and getting materials and all that stuff. You've got serious competition this year: Stu-Co's door WILL be the best!
Well hope you found this one very informative... Remember to check here often!
And that's it Bulldogs! You know the rest......
