The Peer Leadership
The Peer Leadership team, which is in charge of helping Judge students make positive choices, supervised Red Ribbon Week, the week before UEA break.
During that week the Peer Leadership Team hoped to make a bigger influence on students and the choices they make. They did this by raising the awareness of the harmful effects of drugs.
The Red Ribbon Campaign was started in 1985 when Enrique Camarena, a DEA agent was murdered by drug traffickers. The practice of wearing red ribbons is a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs and is tribute to his ultimate sacrifice.
In addition, outside Mrs. Peterson’s room there is a bulletin board that lists many activities that can be done over the next few weekends outside room 200. One of the events was visiting a haunted house.
The Peer Leadership team did a lot during month of October and has many ideas of what students can do on the weekends. As the year progresses the group will hopefully reach out to many students to assist them in making right choices.
