Use your planner to write down assignments. Cross each one off as you complete it.
Use sticky notes to help you remember long-term projects.
Use color coded folders and/or notebooks.
STUDYING VS. DOING HOMEWORK
Homework is written work that is assigned and turned into your teacher.
Studying includes doing things like re-writing your notes, making flash cards, outlining the chapter, creating test questions or anything else that will help you understand the material you are learning that goes above and beyond what your teacher is asking.
HOW TO READ A TEXT BOOK
Read the headings and turn them into questions.
Read the questions at the end of the chapter.
Read in chunks and write down a summary of what you have read.
HELPFUL HINTS FROM YOUR COUNSELOR
Be responsible and check Skyward on a regular basis.
Follow up with your teacher(s) when you have questions or miss a class.
Go to Homework Lab to get help with your school work and to have a quiet place to study. A teacher is there assist you! On Monday and Wednesday, a math teacher is available for any questions!
Hours are 3-5pm, Monday through Thursday
Attend Writing Lab to get help with any writing assignment. Located in the Library, mornings, during and after school! See the schedule posted in the library.
Come into the Counseling Center for help!
