Academic Policies and Study Skills

Semester grades are the grades that are on a student's transcript. These are the grades that colleges will see and use (among other things) to determine whether or not a student will be accepted into the school

Most semester grades are calculated:

40% first quarter

40% second quarter

20% semester final exam

Conduct does not show up on a student's transcript, however, college recommendation forms ask about conduct, academic integrity and suspensions.

Conduct is as follows:

E (exemplary) = 0 demerits for the quarter

S (satisfactory) = 1-4 demerits for the quarter

N (needs improvement) = 5-8 demerits for the quarter

U (unsatisfactory) = >9 demerits for the quarter

A more detailed explanation can be found on page 21 of the Judge Planner under Code of Conduct

Christian Service information can be found on page 7 of the Judge Planner.

Service requirement are as follows:

9th grade: 15 hours

10th grade: 25 hours

11th grade: 35 hours

12th grade: 45 hours

A student is placed on Academic Probation when s/he receives a failing quarter grade in more than one class.

Students who receive a failing quarter grade in more than one class or a quarter grade point average below 2.0 will be ineligible to compete in co-curricular activities or athletics for the next academic quarter. More detailed information can be found on page 7 of the Judge Planner.

Make up classes are required for students who have failed a SEMESTER class. Your student's counselor can answer any questions you might have regarding this issue.
