Listed below are the Special Party Events available for purchase at the 2010 Gala. Space is limited, so submit your party reservation early, before the Gala, so you don’t miss out on all the fun! To reserve now, look below in the file attachments for the master order form, print that out, complete the form and return it to the Advancement Office. There’s so much to choose from, something for everyone, have fun deciding!
We have parties for all ages, genders, interest and prices. There’s something for everyone! Sign up early as most of these parties will sell out even before November 6.
1. Cigars and Brandy on the Beach
- A fine cigar and a great brandy -- the end to a perfect evening. Sign up to join other cigar and brandy afficionados on Judge’s “Beach” after the gala.
- Hosts: Tinderbox of Murray, George Haley, and Tony Sansone
- November 6, 2010, after Live and dessert, night of the auction
- 50 spots at $30 per person
2. Mother Daughter “Queen for a Day”
- Spend an afternoon sipping tea and champagne (for the moms) and nibbling on hors d’oeuvres while you model the finest jewelry in town. O.C. Tanner will host a private party for 10 mother/daughter pairs in their fabulous newly renovated downtown store (site of the old Hansen Planetarium)

3. Are You Ready for Some Dodgeball?
- If you can dodge traffic on 11th East, you can dodge a ball!!
- This was so much fun last year, we decided to make it an annual event! Compete against Judge staff and faculty.
- Teams of six

- Judge Gymnasium
- Hosts: Judge faculty/staff, Stephanie Garlinghouse, and Angie Matinkhah
- Adult and student participation welcome
- 12 teams at $100 a team of six
4. Brown Bag with Mayor Becker
- Join Mayor Ralph Becker and City Council member Jill Love for a brown-bag lunch to talk about issues facing our beloved city.

5. Mingle with the Mathesons
- Join hosts Leslie and Frank Corbett in their beautiful home for cocktails and a buffet dinner with Congressman and Mrs. Jim Matheson.

6. Break Bread with the Bishop
- Enjoy a special evening in the Federal Heights residence of The Most Reverend John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City. Tom Catrow Catering will provide appetizers and Joe Padilla of PadillaErickson will provide the wine for this great evening.

7. An Evening of Art and Appetizers at the A Gallery
- Attend an evening of fine art, food and conversation at one of Utah’s finest galleries – The A Gallery. Enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres as A Gallery owner and artist Brent Godfrey offers his perspective on up and coming Utah artists and provides tips on how to purchase art you will love forever. The A Gallery will also offer a 15 percent discount to those who want to purchase art that night (and the discount can be donated to Judge if you wish!)

8. Blazing Needles Knitting Party
- Here’s a fun and easy way to learn a new hobby! Learn to knit or simply enjoy an evening with good company, wine and appetizers in the cozy atmosphere of Blazing Needles. Get knitting advice and instruction no matter what your level, and they’ll even provide a $20 gift certificate towards your supplies

9. Rock your Mind, Body and Soul…Art, Zumba and Yoga!!!!
- Rock your Mind, Body and Soul…Art, Zumba and Yoga!!! How often can one enjoy a glass of wine in a gorgeous Art filled Gallery, learn to Zumba and then relax to a Zen like state through the mindful practice of Yoga. Kelly Omana owner of Evergreen Gallery will host a lovely evening in her beautiful gallery; Masuda Medcalf will show the moves of Zumba with Sue Carter calming the soul through the peaceful practice of yoga. You will be altered guaranteed!!!!!

10. Poker Night at the Alta Club
- Have a Brew and Win some Bread at a night out with the boys in the nostalgic Alta Club card room.

11. Cooking with the Corroons
- Famed Chef Carl Rubadue will be assisted by “Sous Chef” Amy Corroon as they demonstrate their international (Asian-themed) cooking skills for a fun night of gourmet gab and political pondering!

12. Squatters Beer Tasting, Appetizers and Brewery tour
- Brew Master Extraordinaire Dan Burick will be your host for a fabulous tour of Squatters Pub Brewery. Squatters competed at Great American Beer Festival in Denver this past month and returned to Utah as Mid-size Brewery of the Year, joining America’s most celebrated microbreweries. Sample some of Squatters award winning beers along with some of their signature appetizers. It will be an afternoon to remember!

14. Beers & Brats and Lacrosse
- Hot Brats, Cold Beer and a Big Game-Judge VS Juan Diego!!! The Rechsteiners will be hosting a pre-game BBQ at their home prior to the JUDGE VS JUAN DIEGO Lacrosse game. Please join them for a night of great food, some cold beers and then walk across the street for the big game against one of our long standing rivals…Go Bulldogs!!!!

15. Moonlight Snowshoe Party
- If you’ve never snowshoed or hiked under a full moon, you are in for a treat! Meet at the base of Millcreek Canyon to be escorted to a camp ground where you will don your complimentary snow shoes and head out for a 90-minute moonlight walk. Return to the camp for hot toddies and dessert around a beautiful bonfire.

17. Broadway in SLC -- Sunset Boulevard at Pioneer Theatre with Pre-theater Drinks and Dinner
- Longing for a little New York but can’t get away? Why not put a night aside for dinner and a world class performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard at Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah’s fully professional theatre at the University of Utah? A light dinner and wine will be served before the show at the home of Doug Howard and Cindy Spoor in Salt Lake’s Federal Heights neighborhood (just blocks from the Theater). Enjoy the performance from the best seats in the house! (Tickets can be exchanged for another night if necessary.)

18. Federal Heights Progressive Dinner
- What is more fun than a progressive dinner? Pease join us for a rambunctious, fun and casual evening in Salt Lake’s Federal Heights neighborhood. Eat, drink and be merry while traveling from the charming Katy and John Andrews home to Lee and John Diamond’s – then on to Carolyn and Steven Mintz’abode and finally the lovely Cindy Spoor/Doug Howard home. Bring your walking shoes and be prepared to party!

19. Tough Love Boxing Clinic
- Whether you’re a lover or a fighter, this 2-hour boxing/fitness clinic will be just the cure for your Saturday morning fitness routine. Grab your athletic shoes and your spouse, or even better -- your teenager (!) and head to Sugarhouse Park for one of the best workouts you’ve ever had. Eliza James , owner of Boxing is for Girls (and boys), will provide personalized attention and instruction while taking the group through a high energy session that is sure to get your spring training routine off to the right start. Stay afterwards and enjoy a healthy continental breakfast with other survivors!
