Fall 2010 Volunteer Opportunities
- Football Concessions '10: A great way to meet members of the Bulldog Nation is to volunteer to work concessions at all home football games. Spots are available for home varsity, jv, and frosh games. Contact Karen Nelson (karen.nelson@dioslc.org) to volunteer.
- Campus Ministry Retreats: This year's Campus Ministry retreats are scheduled for the following dates: Freshman-September 9-10, Sophomores- November 8-10 and Juniors-February 15-16. Mr. Espil is looking for adult volunteers for all of these retreats. If you would like to volunteer to help with a retreat, please contact Mr. Pete Espil (pespil@judgememorial.com). Thank You!
- Gala & Auction '10: Get involved in planning one of the highlights of the year … the 29th annual Judge Memorial Gala and Auction! Volunteering on one of the many committees is a great way to meet new people, express your originality, utilize your organizational skills, and raise funds for your favorite school -- Judge! Planning this event covers every interest and every schedule, so join in the fun and volunteer. We need your energy, enthusiasm, ideas and creativity! Here are some areas in which you might serve: Sponsorships, Underwriting, Volunteer Coordinators, Logistics, Entertainment, Silent Auction, Live Auction, Party Boards, Team Baskets, Item Packaging and Display, Decorations, Check-in and Check-out, Disbursement and Food and a whole lot more! Contact Rachel Kelly for more information: 801.517.2132 or rkelly@judgememorial.com.
- Gala & Auction '10, Set Up and Break Down: We are specifically looking for people the day before the auction to set up, the day of the auction, and then the day after the auction to tear down. Those volunteering are asked to work four-hour shifts or the entire evening. If couples wish to volunteer together, you could knock out all of your volunteer hours for the year in one night! Sweet! Contact Stephanie Garlinghouse (sgarlinghouse@yahoo.com) or Joyce Pell (utpells@gmail.com) to volunteer.
- Golf Tournament '10: This year's Bulldog Scramble is set for Sunday, September 12 at Mountain Dell Golf Course. Dan Quinn, who annually coordinates the event with golf coaches extraordinaire Mike & Patty Brimley, is always looking for volunteers -- sponsors, goody bags, prizes, donations, and just interesting ideas. This is a great event, and just a whole lot of fun! Contact Dan Quinn for more information: 801.517.2136 or dquinn@judgememorial.com.
The volunteer hours that you and your family provide Judge Memorial Catholic High School help in establishing community involvement for the benefit of grant writing, fund raising, assisting team coaches, group moderators, class coordinators, and myriad other ways.
Each family is obligated to complete 15 service hours per school year. You also have the option of paying $25 in lieu of your time. We prefer you volunteer time, however, you may choose how you would like to give back to the school.
There are many ways to volunteer at Judge Memorial. You can serve on the JPA Board; lend a hand at the Gala; serve at athletic events, arts performances; or assist with testing or other academic endeavors.
Listed above are currently announced volunteer opportunities for parents, along with the appropriate contact information. We encourage you to check back often; and to hit refresh/reload on your browser to read the latest listings. Thank you for your assistance, Bulldogs!
