2010 Bulldogs' Summer Athletics Opportunities

Judge Memorial Catholic High School offers a variety of athletic camps and programs designed for all grades and interests. Students are encouraged to use these summer opportunities to develop a talent or interest in a particular sport, or to get preparation for high school athletics. Whatever you decide, we look forward to seeing you this summer, Bulldogs!

  • Salt Lake City Golf offers summer leagues, clinics, parent/junior scrambles and tournaments at various SLC golf courses; visit the SLC golf website for more information. Junior Golf Connection (www.juniorgolfconnection.com) is a series of tournaments offered throughout the summer for boys and girls. The Utah Junior Golf Association also offers tournaments for the more competitive player; visit the UJGA website for information. Aalso check your local golf course for available programs. Tryouts for the Men’s Golf team will be the first part of August. If you are interested, please contact Patty Brimley.

Daily Summer Cross Country Training Program

  • Practice will begin on Monday, June 21 at Sugarhouse Park
  • Mondays & Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. daily at Judge Memorial (typical)
  • Friday, 6:30 a.m., Millcreek Canyon, or other location TBD
  • Tuesday & Thursday, 7 p.m., Sugarhouse Park, or other location, TBD
  • We will provide each runner with a summer running journal as a guideline

Colorado Rocky Mountain High XC Camp

  • This is the inaugural year of the Colorado Rocky Mountain High XC Camp. It will be a backpacking camp where we will climb six of Colorado's 14,000ft peaks (14-ers) in four-five days.
  • When: July 7 – 12
  • Where: Colorado, Breckenridge & Leadville districts
  • Who: All runners who have participated in the first three weeks of summer training and family members
  • Cost: approximately $50 depending on number of runners

Camp Quinnya

  • Judge has a tradition of transitioning our summer base training to our high intensity fall racing schedule by going to Camp Quinnya in late summer. For the last 12 years, we have based our training in Duck Creek located 30 miles east of Cedar City on the Markagaunt Plateau at an elevation of 8500 feet.

  • Where Duck Creek, Utah (near Cedar City)
  • Who: Any Judge XC runner and All prospective runners are invited
  • Cost: $225. Runners who pay for the summer program will receive a $25 discount

Intro to Physical Conditioning

  • June 14 – July 2
  • Monday through Friday
  • 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Cost is $250; .5 credit (one-half credit) in physical education earned

  • This course presents guidelines for individuals to improve their physical fitness by incorporating fitness, pre and post testing, weight lifting, ply metrics, speed and agility training along with health and diet issues. Meets in the Weight Room with instructors: Coach Marquis DuPre and Coach Stan Finn.

Fitness for Life

  • June 14 – July 1
  • Monday through Thursday
  • Cost is $250; .5 credit (one-half credit)in physical education earned
  • Judge Memorial Summer Opportunities Web page
  • Students will participate in weightlifting, running, and aerobic activity. Topics to be covered will be body composition, diet and nutrition, exercise, physiology and mental imagery. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, June 14 through July 1. Physical activities will require shorts, T-shirt and workout shoes.
