Direct all questions to Mrs. Pam Oles at poles@judgememorial.com.

SCIENCE: Students are selected for Honors Chemistry based on their qualifying exam score (March 20 or March 22), their score on the placement exam, and their eighth grade transcript and teacher recommendation. Consider taking the qualifying exam if you score in the 80th local percentile or above on the reading, math, and science sections of the placement exam and have good grades and good study habits from junior high. This qualifying exam is a 30-minute that requires a calculator. Direct all questions to Dr. Stephanie Atherton at satherton@judgememorial.com or 801-363-8895 ext.228.

MATH: Geometry/Algebra II Honors is the most challenging math course for freshmen. Consider taking the Geometry/Algebra II Honors qualifying exam if you have completed an Algebra I class with excellent grades. The exam consists of 75 problems and lasts one hour. This exam may be taken again on May 11 at 4 p.m., or at the end of the summer school Accelerated Algebra course on July 2 at 9 a.m. Direct questions to Mr. Pat Clark at pclark@judgememorial.com or 801-363-8895 ext. 211.

FRENCH, GERMAN, LATIN, SPANISH : Placement into German, Latin, Spanish I Honors and French I Honors are designed for students who have had previous experience with these languages or are highly motivated to learn the language at a faster pace than the regular courses. Consider taking the exam if you know enough of the language to ask and answer simple questions, write and recite numbers and the alphabet, talk simply about the time, date, or weather, tell and write basic information about yourself, and conjugate some verbs in the present tense. The exam lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
