A Family is United for Thanksgiving

Special Update: With deep gratitude for the kindness and generosity of a local travel agent, two Judge Memorial families, and a Judge staff member, funds have been secured for this family to have an early Thanksgiving holiday together. There are indeed angels among us! (November 6, 2008)

A current Judge Memorial parent has passed along this story to us in the hopes that a benefactor or two may be in a position to step forward.

Comfort Hospice Care, based in Layton, is hoping to secure two round trip plane tickets for a local family to visit their grandfather in Texas. While Hospice, along with the grandfather’s local parish, has been providing support and care, his family is hoping to make a trip to Texas this month to share in an early holiday visit.

Comfort Hospice Care has already arranged for the entire family to have an early Thanksgiving dinner, catered by Marie Callender’s. Comfort Hospice Care has also been successful in securing one ticket for the gentleman’s daughter. Still needed are the two tickets for the grandchildren. The cost of each ticket is $254.00, or a total of $508.00, to send the two grandchildren, and their mother for this gathering.

If you would be willing to help in any way, please contact Kathy Frappier in the Judge Memorial Principal’s Office (kfrappier@judgememorial.com or 801-363-8895, ext. 126). We also encourage you to pass along this request to anyone who may be in a position to assist this grandfather in having this Thanksgiving gathering, surrounded by his family.
