After placing fourth at the State tournament, the Lady Bulldogs tennis team is setting their sights even higher this year as the team will have many returning players back on the court this fall ready to do battle against their 3A counterparts.


Girls' Tennis Concludes Season

Girls' Tennis concluded their 2008 season with a fourth place finish at the state meet, held at BYU. Members of the team who competed last Friday and Saturday were: Mikelle Mancini, Claire Hollingsworth, Chloe Ropner, Jaqi Pok, Avery Noorda, Ali Clayton and Alyssa Corbett.

Girls Tennis Finishes Fourth

Judge Memorial Catholic High School Girls' Tennis finishes the fall 2008 Class 3-A State Competition in fourth place, one point behind third place finisher Juan Diego Catholic High School.

Final team finishes: 1. Desert Hills (26 points), 2. Park City (18 pts), 3. JDCHS (10 pts), and 4. JMCHS (9 pts).

Bulldog Tennis Update!!

The Lady Bulldogs got off to a great start in their second region match against the Uintah Utes last Tuesday. The squad made the long four hour trek to Vernal and promptly dominated their counterparts.

All varsity players won their matches, including JV player Alexis Naylor (she stepped in place of a sick Claire Hollingsworth) who won her respective varsity match.Read more »

Lady Bulldogs Swing into Region X

The Lady Bulldogs opened Region X play by drilling Wasatch in an inspiring 5-0 shut-out.

The JV team followed up that big win by taking out the Wasps as well in straight sets.

With Judge now 3-0 for the season, the Bulldogs are now set to face Region X foe Uintah on September 9th, followed by a non-league match with Woods Cross on the 10th.

Bulldogs beat Bountiful

The Judge Memorial girls' tennis team made it two straight against 4A foes as they beat Bountiful 3-2 on Tuesday.

Mikelle Mancini was the headliner with a 6-1, 6-2 shellacking of her Bountiful counterpart. Claire Hollingsworth followed that epic bout with a solid 6-4, 6-2 outing, while Chloe Ropner battled hard to finish out the Bulldog wins by taking down her rival 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Congratulations, Volleying Bulldogs! The Scarlet & Gold are now set to face Region X rival Wasatch as the Bulldogs open their crucial 2008 region matches.

Lady Bulldogs beat East

The girls' opened their 2008 season in dominating fashion, beating neighborhood rival East with a 4-1 victory. The JV team looked especially strong in winning their match with East by winning that match-up, 7-0.

Judge star Mikelle Mancini won her match 6-1, 6-1, while Claire Hollingsworth beat her Leopard counterpart 6-2, 6-0. Chloe Ropner came back strong after dropping her first set 2-6, by finishing off her rival with a 6-4, 6-4 finish. Ali Clayton and Alyssa Corbett teamed up to beat a strong East pair in three sets, 6-1, 0-6, 6-4.Read more »

A New Season Begins...

The girls tennis team is back and ready to play their hardest! After coming in 4th at the state competition last fall, the lady bulldogs are ready to smash, slice, spin and win under the watchful eyes of Coaches Lani Wilcox and Mary Mancini.

So far this season, the tennis girls have been competing against each other, playing practice matches to make their stand on the team. The team has also been lucky to receive several new freshman with outstanding talent and a love for the game.Read more »

Tryouts

Tryouts will take place on August 4, 5, and 6 at 3-6 p.m. at Liberty Park. Make sure you have your athletic paperwork completed and an eligibility card to give to the coach. Extra forms will be available at tryouts.
