Judge Memorial Bulldog Boys' Tennis State Champions: 1970, 1983, 1991, 1992, 2008.

The Judge Memorial boys' tennis team captured their first state championship in over 25 years in 2008. They followed that up with a third place finish at state in 2009, a sixth place finish in 2010, and fourth in 2011.
The spring 2012, under the direction of head coach Jonathan Hsu and assistant Coach David May, are looking to build on the success of the last few seasons with the 2012 campaign. The boys' finished in the Final Four following the 2011 UHSAA 3A State Tourney at BYU.
Senior John Barnett, individual Region XI champ and UHSAA 3A runner-up, leads his fellow seniors: Chris Coombs, Hunter Cornelison, Joshua Goldsmith, Dion Granger-Troy, Alec Louie and Sean Ward. The squad includes a strong contingent of underclassmen who have started the 2012 spring season strong. Good luck, Bulldog netters!

On May 11 and 12, the boys' tennis team traveled to Wasatch to compete in Regions.
On May 11, first singles player, Kyle Barnett, started the first round against Union. Kyle Barnett unfortunately lost 4-6, 1-6. Second singles player, Connor McCoy, won against Uintah's player 6-2, 6-2. John Barnett, third singles player, had an effortless win against Union 6-0, 6-0. Brandon Reemsnyder and Luke Ropner, first doubles players, had to wait until 5:30 to play. Read more »

On Friday and Saturday, April 27 and April 28, the boys' tennis team competed in the Wasatch Valley Tournament.
On Friday, the team competed against Bear River and won 4-1. Kyle Barnett, first singles player, won 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Connor McCoy, second singles player, lost 6-4, 5-7, 1-6. John Barnett, third singles player, had an easy win and was the first player off the court winning 6-3, 6-2. Congratulations to the varsity boys' tennis team for taking first place at the Wasatch Valley tourney in Heber this weekend. Varsity players are Kyle Barnett, Connor McCoy, John Barnett, Luke Ropner, Branson Reemsnyder, Alec Louie and Quin Vu. Nice work, Bulldogs!

On Thursday, April 26, the boys' tennis team challenged not only our rivals but very often also our closest ally, Juan Diego. The varsity came out on top, winning 3-2.
Almost every single game was intense for the boys on the varsity team. First singles player, Kyle Barnett lost 1-6, 1-6. Connor McCoy played hard and the frustration of both players could be heard across the courts though he unfortunately lost 2-6, 1-6. John Barnett, third singles player won 6-1, 6-4. Read more »

The Judge Boys' Tennis Team challenged Union High on April 2. The Varsity team had a decisive win 4-1. The JV team also did fabulously, winning 5-0.
Kyle Barnett, first singles player, had a close game but ultimately lost 6-4, 5-7, 3-6. Connor McCoy won 6-2, 7-5 and John Barnett won easily with a 6-1, 6-1.
First doubles players Luke Ropner and Brandon Reemsnyder won quickly with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Second doubles players Alec Louie and Quin Vu also did very well, winning 6-1, 6-0. Read more »

On April 19, the boys' tennis team had a hard game against Wasatch. JV won 3-2 but the varsity had a hard time today, losing 2-3. All three of the varsity singles players lost today. Kyle Barnett lost 3-6, 3-6, Quin Vu lost 4-6, 2-6, and John Barnett had the longest game on the courts today. He fought valiantly but unfortunately lost 4-6, 6-2, 6-7.
Luke Ropner and Brandon Reemsnyder's match was over in no time. They had a spectacular win 6-0, 6-1. Josh Goldsmith and Dion Granger fought hard for their win. Read more »

On April 4, the boys' tennis team challenged Rowland Hall at home at Liberty Park. The Varsity team defeated Rowland Hall 4-1 and the JV team cruised in a 5-0 victory over RH.
Kyle Barnett, first singles player, won 7-6 (4) and 6-4. Connor McCoy, second singles player, had a long game, ending in an unfortunate loss 6-2, 4-6, 1-6. John Barnett, third singles player, won 6-4, 6-2.
First doubles Brandon Reemsnyder and Luke Ropner worked effortlessly as a team and won two perfect scores 6-0, 6-0. Read more »

Last weekend the Judge Memorial Catholic High School boys' varsity tennis team competed against three other schools in the Woods Cross Classic Tennis Tournament.
The first match was against 4A Woods Cross high school. The boys had a tricky time adapting to the extremely strong winds. Woods Cross however was in their element and won 4-1. Sophomores Luke Ropner and Brandon Reemsnyder pulled out the only win against Woods Cross.
The second match of the day was against 4A Bountiful high school. The boys played hard and were using the wind to their advantage but lost to Bountiful 2-3. Read more »

The Judge Boys' Tennis Team started March 29 out with a three and half hour bus ride to Uintah. When the match finally began, the wind started to pick up and by the end of the match it was very cold. Even with the bus ride and the weather, the Bulldogs were able to conquer Uintah 4-1 for Varsity and 5-0 in JV.
First singles player, Kyle Barnett, had an easy win (6-0, 6-2). Watching Connor McCoy, second singles player, face off against Uintah was intense. Ultimately, he won 6-3, 6-4. Read more »
