Bulldog of the Month: Allie!
Senior Allie Menzdorf is our Bulldog of the Month for November 2010!
A senior at Judge, Allie Menzdorf was the creative genius behind the costumes for the drama department's amazing production of "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." Drood is the musical interpretation of an unfinished Charles Dickens novel incorporating elements of mystery and drama, set in the Victorian era. The costumes were both intricate and detailed. There was a lot of sewing and structure to every outfit, and were designed to have a vibrant palette of fabrics and textures. In Allie’s words, “I feel that every character whether ensemble or a lead has a background story that is partially portrayed through their costume.”
This isn't Allie's first attempt at costuming a period piece. She was the costume designer for the spring main stage production of "Metamorphoses," in which she had the huge task of outfitting a cast of forty, most of which need multiple costumes. "Metamorphoses," by the Roman poet Ovid, is a narrative poem in fifteen books describing the creation of the world. Written in 8 AD, it is one of the most well-known works of mythology.
A member of the English Quest team, Allie received first-place honors in story telling, and third place honors in personal narrative writing. Further, she was the recipient of a 2009-2010 Academic Award for Excellence in Technical Theater.
In recognition of her talents, creativity, commitment to excellence, and contributions to the Judge Community, we are proud to honor Allie Menzdorf as our Bulldog of the Month!

Student Council coordinates the monthly Bulldog of the Month campaign for Judge Memorial. StuCo encourages teachers, staff, administration and students to nominate Judge students who may be deserving of this honor. Nomination forms can be picked up in the main office and turned into Ms. Mulick. The Bulldog of the Month could be someone who exemplifies a strong moral character; it could be someone who shines in athletics; it could be someone who excels in his or her activity or club; or it could be someone who just deserves additional recognition. Check the bulletin board in the southwest corner of the cafeteria for details on monthly award recipients.
