Judge's Rockwell signs Letter of Intent
On Wednesday, February 4, 2009, Morgan Rockwell, a Judge Memorial Catholic High School student-athlete, signed a letter of intent to attend Louisiana Tech University.
Rockwell, daughter of Brad and Charlene Rockwell of Salt Lake City, will play soccer for the Lady Techsters. Louisiana Tech competes in the Western Athletic Conference. The Lady Techsters finished 10-5-5 in 2008, a significant improvement compared to their 2007 campaign where the team went 2-14-1 and 0-6-1 in the WAC.
"I went to visit the school last spring and I loved the campus," said Rockwell. "It's a real college town and just amazing. I like the coach a lot and feel good about my choice. Two other players from my club team are also attending. It is a big move but we'll do it together.”
Rockwell, who is considering majoring in engineering, is expected to play center midfield. She received a number of post-season honors following the 2008 girls soccer season, including the Deseret News All-State honorable mention.
Rockwell joins fellow Judge Memorial Bulldogs seniors who have indicated their intention to continue their athletic and artistic careers in college.
