Mock Trial gets a win in first competition

Congratulations to Judge Memorial's Mock Trial team who won their first competition on Saturday, February 27 against Cache Valley Academy 3-0.

Sophomore Elisabeth Barrows and senior Matthew Stark were chosen as “best attorneys” while sophomore Emily Strand was named “best witness” in this round. Though the team is young and less experienced this year, they worked hard and continued Judge's winning tradition with a strong, united and convincing win. Congratulations to both the team and coaches.

Next up for Judge Memorial is a competition against Lehi on Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at the Matheson Courthouse. Go Bulldogs!

This year's coach/sponsor is Patrick Anderson, who is assisted by Deborah Mendez, along with other volunteer lawyers. Both Mr. Anderson and Ms. Mendez are from the Salt Lake Legal Defender's Association, Salt Lake County. Our team is very grateful for the guidance of these outstanding attorneys. Our students realize what a privilege it is to work with these professionals and are thankful for the opportunity. Judge Memorial faculty member Dianna Pugh is the moderator for the program.
