Interact Club Walk In Center Literacy Fair

On Friday October 29, students from the Judge Memorial Interact Club gave up their Friday night to volunteer at the Indian Walk In Center. The purpose of the fair was to combine Halloween fun and literary growth. Children of all ages were invited to come and participate in various Halloween-themed booths including word searches, photo booths, and short story time. Each booth would then punch a card that could later be turned in for candy.
Several Judge Interactors donned costumes and hats and joined in the fun and reading awareness. Interact moderators Dr. Corethia Qualls and Mrs. Susan Monserret were even seen sporting costumes. The Interact Club set up a booth with fun Halloween Mad-Libbs; a special game where children fill in blanks to form a funny story. Interactors also set up and worked a specialty photo booth where families could get their pictures taken.
“It was a really great experience and the kids were all really appreciative,” stated one Interactor.
While the Interact club does not yet know if this will become an annual event, many Interactors are hoping it will -- if no other reason than to see Mrs. Monserret and Dr. Qualls in costume!
