Boys' golf at Judge Memorial has had a long, rich tradition with many great players going on to play collegiate golf. The Bulldogs golf team is under the direction of Coach Mike Brimley, head golf professional at Mountain Dell Golf Course, and his wife Patty. This was the Brimleys fourth season coaching the boys' squad.

Under the direction of coaches Mike and Patty Brimley, the Judge Memorial Catholic High School 2011 golf team returned to the talent-rich Region 10. Competition was fierce all season, with four of the top finishing teams at State coming from Region 10. Senior Chris Turner competed in the State competition held in American Fork in less than ideal conditions.

2011 Boys' Golf Team Tryout Information

Tryouts for the 2011 Judge Golf Team will be Wednesday, August 3: 18 holes on the Mtn. Dell Canyon Course; Thursday, August 4 and Friday, August 5: 9 holes on the Mtn. Dell Lake Course. Tee times will begin around 1:00 p.m. all three days and tryouts will consist of one 18 hole round and two 9 hole rounds with the worst 9 hole score thrown out.

Please fill out the golf info sheet (see file attachments below) and e-mail the completed form back by Friday, July 15 if you plan on trying out. We need to know the number of attendees in order to reserve tee times. Read more »

Junior Golf Connection (www.juniorgolfconnection.com) is a series of tournaments offered throughout the summer for boys and girls.

Judge's Kinney to play men's golf for Mesa State

Davis Kinney, son of Nancy Kinney and Todd Kinney, will attend Mesa Sate College, and will play men's golf for the Mavericks. He plans to major in business or economics. Mesa State competes in NCAA Division II, and are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Mesa State's men's golf team is coached by Paul Brown, now in his first season as head coach.

“I chose Mesa State because it had the right combination of academics, athletics and social environment for me,” said Kinney. “I had a great visit to the school, and with Coach Brown and the current players. Read more »

Boys' Golf Season-in-Reivew

Under the direction of coaches Mike and Patty Brimley, the Judge Memorial Catholic High School 2010 golf team won six out of seven events in region play on its way to a Region XI championship. It should be noted, it is the second straight year in which the team did just that.

2010 Boys' Golf Season in Review

The boys' golf team had another great season winning six out of seven region tournaments and taking the Region XI Title. Chris Turner had the lowest scoring average on the team with a 73.6.

“We had a strong team this year,” according to Mike Brimley, head golf coach. “Five of our varsity team members were made up of juniors who played well and continue to improve each year."

Those juniors include Chris Turner, who won the 3A Championship as an individual in 2009, Charlie Murphy, who’s scoring average was 76, Hunter Cornelison, Justin Brimley and Wilson Lamb. Read more »
