The 2011 boys’ and girls’ cross country squads began their summer with the usual Duck Creek first-week-of-August camp. At the State championships in Sugar House, the boys’ squad finished in the 12th spot, with the girls coming in fifth.
Top finishers for the girls at the UHSAA 3-A State Championships were Peyton Schiff, Maddie Criscione and Koko Novak. Junior Jack Dailey earned All-State honors by virtue of his eighth place finish at State. He was also honored by the Utah High School Track Coaches Association, named to second team All-State.

The Tribune does not traditionally publish a list of the top cross country runners in the state - the state meets generally determine who those student athletes are.
But the Utah High School Track Coaches Association has selected its own athletes - based mostly on state results - and we republish them here.

Both the boys' and girls' cross country teams participated in the Region X meet at Union High School with both teams advancing to State.
Girls' cross country finished in third place in the Region with the boys taking fourth. On the girls' side, Koko Novak finished third individually with Jack Dailey taking the third spot for the boys. Peyton Schiff claimed a sixth place individual spot for the girls.
Next up is the State competition at Sugar House Park. Go Bulldogs!

Murray Invite:
9.16.11: Boys: 34/45 teams in the 5K Varsity race. Honorable Mention: Jack Dailey, 22nd overall out of 314 boys. Girls: 14 of 38 teams competing, Honorable Mention, Kendra Novak 28/258 girls competing.
Bob Firman Invite:
9.24.11: Boys: Honorable Mentions: Jack Dailey won the Division 1 Varsity Boys race. Girls: 10/37 teams in the Division 1 Varsity 5K.

UT County Invite(5K)
Girls Team: 11th out of 16 teams. Honorable mention: Kendra Novak; 19:40 and 22nd overall of 297 finishers.
Boys team: 14th out of 17 teams. Honorable mention: Jack Dailey; 16:14 and 22nd overall of 404 finishers.

The Judge Memorial girls' and boys' cross country teams are at it again. The 2011 squads began the hazy, hot, and humid month of August with the usual high-altitude, week-long, intensive preparation individualized session at Duck Creek Camp.
The teams are led this fall by seniors Liz Barrows, Connor Liston, and Koko Novak, and are supported by a strong base of underclassmen. These three are providing extensive senior leadership and experience, leading with their character as well as their legs. The runners are looking forward to competing every weekend in places from Boise, Idaho to Orem. Read more »

The program has two main goals: preparing experienced runners for the fall competition season, and increasing the general fitness level for new runners.
