The White House will salute nine leaders in Catholic education on January 25, Wednesday, in recognition of their service to their communities and the country.
Recognized as “Champions of Change,” these extraordinary individuals have made a major impact on the students, families, and educators through Catholic schools and universities throughout America.
The event was timed by the White House as a prelude to National Catholic Schools Week, an annual event which celebrates the contributions of Catholic schools to the nation.
The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) collaborated with the administration on the Champions program. Several NCEA leaders will be in attendance at the White House event: Dr. Karen Ristau, president; Brother Robert Bimonte, executive director, Elementary Schools; Dr. Regina Haney, executive director, Boards and Councils of Catholic Education and Dr. Philip Robey, executive director, Secondary Schools.
