Matt Mapstone, Head Coach
The mission of the Judge Memorial Lady Bulldogs Basketball program is to use the court as our classroom to develop each individual and team as a unit. We will strive to run a fundamentally sound and successful program which prides itself on TEAMwork, stifling pressure defense, and year-round hard work. We will use basketball as an opportunity to teach values such as respect, trust, unselfishness, and to build self-confidence and mental toughness in each player.
After challenging 2011 pre-season in which the Lady Bulldogs finished 7-4, the girls finished Region 10 competition with an 8-2 record, claiming the number two spot from Region 10 in the 2011-2012 UHSAA 3A State Championships.
Earning a home game in the first round, the Lady Bulldogs were victorious in OT over Cedar. Playing at Dixie State College of Utah, the girls won their quarterfinal matchup with Carbon, and then dropped the next two (to Desert Hills in the semi-finals, and to Juab in the consolation game) to finish in the number four spot in UHSAA 3A competition.
Leading the 2011-2012 squad were seniors Caitlin Gruis, Kyra McComas (captain), Sarah Anne Nakamura, Sarah Palmer, Sydney Richards (captain, Dona Sansone and Miya Titmus.
McComas was named to the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) winter sports Academic All-State team in girls’ basketball. Richards was nominated for the 2012 McDonald's All-American game.
