Boys' Basketball Summer Teams
The following will comprise our 2012 summer teams:
Those with stars (*) by their name will participate on both the Varsity and JV Red teams.
Please remember that in general members of all three teams will need to commit through the month of June and we will be taking all three teams to the University of Utah team camp on June 14-16th and the Big Mountain Jam on June 28-30th. We also expect all members of these teams to attend our summer camp. Camp dates for 9th and 10th graders will be (Monday-Friday) June 11-22nd. 9th graders will go from 12:30-2:30 and 10th graders will go from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on these dates. 11th and 12th graders will go June 11-July 3rd on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM. Some 9th and 10th graders may be asked to attend both their own age group session and the 11th and 12 grade evening session. Once the 9th and 10th grade session ends on June 22nd we will open up the evening session to anyone making these teams who would like to attend.
Varsity members are expected to commit through the South Tahoe Shoot-Out on July 5-9th. We will also practice on a weekly basis with all three teams as well as have a strength training component offered during this time period.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me on my work line (801-517-2172) or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also look for an email from me detailing our schedule in the coming weeks as well as information about parent meetings in which we will discuss such important items as schedules and summer fees.
We will take the rest of this week and all of next week off formally so kids playing football can prepare for and focus on the 7-on-7 Ute Shoot on June 1st and 2nd. Informally we will offer some skill sessions for those not participating in Ute shoot and we will get information out on that in the next few days.
On a final note I would encourage all not making one of these teams to not be discouraged and continue to play and also come to our summer camp. For the incoming 9th graders in particular, please know that this tryout was for a JV team and very difficult to make. In addition there will definitely be kids who make our freshman team in November that did not make one of these teams in May.
Any player wishing for specific feedback as to why the did not make a team should either contact me via email or come and see me in the guidance office
Thanks again to everyone for trying out and GO BULLDOGS!
