Athletics & Activities Participation Criteria

Any student interested in participating in Judge Athletics must have completed their registermyathlete.com registration before participating in practices and competitions. Students must meet eligibility requirements to try out for, or participate in, any athletics or activities. Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) states that students on academic probation or with a grade point average below 2.0 are not eligible to participate in athletics or activities. Eligibility is based on the most recent completed quarter grades. Students must meet academic eligibility requirements by the beginning of the sport or activity's season in order to participate in that sport or activity for the entire season. A complete listing of beginning dates can be found on the UHSAA website, http://www.uhsaa.org.

In order to participate in any extracurricular activity, a student must be present in school and in class from 8A or first grading period until the end of the day on which the activity is to take place. Having a free period at the beginning of the day does not excuse a student from the expected 8A arrival. Coaches and moderators will check the daily absence roster and ensure compliance with this rule. The director of athletics or director of activities must approve exceptions in consultation with the principal/designee.
