Essential Knowledge and Skills
This course studies advanced techniques of choral singing and develops a strong sense of self-awareness for the singer. Vocal and listening skills are reinforced through small ensemble experience and evaluation. Literature includes advanced voicing and foreign text. This is an auditioned class and skills must be at an acceptable level for admittance.
Indicators of Learning
Upon completion of this course, students will:
• Have an increased awareness of more complex music and languages.
• Sing a cappella with greater confidence.
• Developed an ear for denser blends
• Solo with ease
Assessment
The following assignments are required for successful completion of the course:
• Performance in at least 4 major concerts/festivals
• Participate in extra curricular performances
• Perform in a trio/quartet
