Essential Knowledge and Skills:

This course emphasizes good technique, intonation, reading and listening skills, rhythmic accuracy, and musicianship in a small ensemble setting for strings.

Indicators of Learning
Upon completion of this course, students will:

• Have developed good performance habits

• Play in tune with the ensemble.

• Have achieved rhythmic accuracy

• Be able to play in positions

• Be able to play all major and minor scales and arpeggio at least 2 octaves.

Assessment

The following assignments are required for successful completion of the course:

• Performance in at least 2 major concerts

• Concert attendance reports, listening logs and practice logs

• Playing exams
