Essential Knowledge and Skills
Basic Drawing students will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of drawing. Line, value, shape, color, perspective, rendering and shading will all be demonstrated and communicated through assignments. The student will be expected to have all needed materials to demonstrate their abilities and aesthetic growth. Drawing pencils, T-squares, and a portfolio are a must. Students will have effective demonstrations to start their assignments and further help as they indicate.
Indicators of student learning
• A demonstration of their skills pertaining to assignments in the form of drawings, a dimensional drawing, a collage of different mediums which communicate their understanding of the project.
• Student drawings can be done in pencil, colored pencil, ink, paint and structural papers using various mediums.
Technology
• Multiple assignments will demand research by using books or the Internet and film.
Assessment Upon the successful completion of this course students will:
• Upon completion of the course the student will have developed a portfolio based on class assignments, which will indicate growth over four quarters.
