Essential Knowledge and Skills
Design students will develop a visual language (drawing) before building dimensional works. All students will be instructed in various ways of manufacturing three dimensional art pieces. Teacher will demonstrate techniques so that students will have a better understanding of the concepts expected to be completed. Students will learn about and work with multiple mediums to complete assignments. Students will be introduced to the principles of design.
Indicators of student learning
• All students have confidence in their visual language.
• All students have a sketchbook with their work in it for grading.
• All students demonstrate their skills with multiple mediums.
• All students have a body of work completed by the end of each quarter.
• All students will understand the basic concepts of design.
Technology
• Books, film and the Internet.
Assessment Upon the successful completion of this course students will:
• Produced a portfolio of work that demonstrates their understanding of the class and its goals.
• Developed a visual language in which to communicate their ideas.
